Back by popular demand......here is a LOVE/HATE writeup for each team after the draft. Overall it seems like a fairly even draft, with some teams needing help at RB and others at WR. Best of luck to everyone this year.
Please let me know if you agree/disagree or think i'm an idiot for my take on your team.
Steez Team: Jordan Westerberg
Love: Davante Adams (WR1) and Zach Ertz (TE) are both bound to put up good numbers if their respective QBs are healthly.
Hate: QB1 is already in a walking boot and has an injury history. Devonta Freeman (RB1) is coming off a season-ending injury and are we even sure Matt Breida (RB2) is going to make the 49ers roster?
Glip Glops: Jacob Nolton
Love: Russell Wilson is really good and his added points from scrambling without getting hurt are huge. Also, as i said during the draft....I like Alexander Mattison a lot due to Dalvin Cook's injury history.
Hate: I think he got a little bit too cute by taking Alvin Kamara #1 overall just b/c I'm down on the Saints this year overall. Also, are any of Jarvis Landry, Amari Cooper, or Adam Humphies going to be a WR1 this year?
Percy Whipped: Evan Schurman
Love: I'm glad that I have 3 RBs that all play for teams that really like to run the ball and should have consistent usage. The other theme my team this year is position differential since I have the #1 TE in Kelce, the #1 K in Tucker and the #1 DEF in the Bears.
Hate: I don't really like my current situation at WR2 with Christian Kirk, or my FLEX with Sterling Shepherd. Also, even though the Bears are the #1 preseason DEF, they go against my strategy of avoiding DEF who finished first in their division a year ago.
Autobots Assemble: Andrew Rosacker
Love: I really like this WR pairing of Julio Jones and Mike Evans, especially if Mike Evans gets a bump from a Bruce Arians offensive scheme. The AJ Green sleeper here is interesting as well.
Hate: Way too many Falcons here and if they struggle the year could get long. Do we know if either of these RBs Lindsay & Kerryon Johnson) are actually good?
SuperCYaiyan: Alex Spooner & Cole Anderson
Love: There is some sneaky upside to this team with Kenny Golladay and Duke Johnson. The Vikings DEF is in a sweet spot of being a good DEF and not having a first place schedule to play against.
Hate: Might be a little Rams heavy given teams who lose the Super Bowl typically regress a lot the next year. Leveon Bell is a massive unknown at this point and I like my 1st rounders to be more of a sure thing.
Cookin' Up that Steez: Zach Frederick
Love: I feel like Christian McCaffery being there at #3 was a surprise, but maybe not? Regardless, I think CMC's workload this year is going to be really high and he'll have the numbers to match. Might have been early but Patrick Mahomes is likely going to avoid the sophomore slump and if that happens, this team likely has the top scoring WR and QB.
Hate: Neither of the WRs (Diggs & Robinson) are true #1s so that could be a struggle, especially since I think the Vikings passing attack will be scaled back. I don't see anyone on the bench who is going to have a breakout year.
Team Muscle Hampster: Zeke Kasper
Love: I would have crushed Zeke for drafting Zeke (HA!) if he didn't also grab Pollard here, but having the lead back in Dallas is a big win. I also like the Donte Moncreif pick here, mostly b/c I really like Steelers WRs.
Hate: I do not like Carson Wentz....I think he is the most overrated QB in the NFL. Also, anytime you're rolling with a Pats RB you're asking for inconsistency.
Bad Dream Team: Tony Bartleson
Love: I'm on board the Baker Mayfield hype train, so I like him in this spot. I was going to draft Baker the pick after Tony did. Also, I really like Tyler Lockett b/c he's finally the main guy in Seattle and Russell Wilson likes to get him the ball.
Hate: Tyreek Hill is really good, but I'm still not sure he won't somehow get suspended this year. Also, with more weapons in Cleveland, is there room for Njoku to get the ball?
Clipped Tongues: Chelsea Frederick
Love: I really like the QB situation here with Lamar Jackson and Kirk Cousins. Lamar could really break out this year and his ability as a runner give him a chance to score a lot of points.
Hate: Not crazy about the RB situation here with Dalvin Cook and Derrick Henry. Dalvin has played something like 15 games in 2 years, and Derrick Henry has had one good stretch of games (like 4 games?) in his career. Will either of them be an RB1?
Cam You Dig It Sucka: Alex Johnson
Love: Obviously Saquon falling to #2 was a nice surprise, but I also like the Deshaun Watson pick here. With Luck gone, the Texans could take this division.
Hate: The entire WR corp of Hilton, Ridley, & Corey Davis is full of question marks related to QB play and lack of consistency. Other than Sam Darnold, there isn't anyone on this bench that excites me.
Lights, Kamara, Action: Andrew Montgomery
Love: I'm a big fan of the value here at the WR position with Antonio Brown and Cooper Kupp. Brown is still talented even if he has a worse QB and a different helmet (HA!). I mentioned this during the draft chat, but I like Josh Allen as a flyer QB due to his rushing yardage factor.
Hate: RBs are full of questions here with David Johnson returning from and injury and Damien Williams being in a crowded backfield in KC. Is this the year Drew Brees finally regresses?
Bart's Bottom Feeders: Stephen Bartleson
Love: WR pair of Hopkins and Tyler Boyd is really solid. Tyler Boyd has upside in Cincy b/c someone has to catch the ball there. One of the RBs in San Fran is going to be good this year, so having both a nice plus.
Hate: Holy Tight Ends! I don't like rostering 3 tight ends here even if two of them have some upside. Also, it feels like 2 too many Lions on this team.
Sippy Kupp: Angelo Zaldarriaga
Love: James Conner, Austin Ekeler, and Todd Gurley is a really nice RB tandem to start with, until Melvin Gordon is back at least. I think Jameis is good this year and Rivers is always a sneaky good fantasy play.
Hate: Seriously, this is the best team Angelo has ever drafted. With that being said, I don't see a true WR1 and even though i love Ekeler and Gurley, both could easily be duds.
Aaron It Out: Travis Bryant
Love: Really good WR tandem with Michael Thomas and Adam Thielen (even if they're down from last year, they're still both WR1s). Jared Cook was really good with Derek Carr, can he do the same with Drew Brees?
Hate: Both Mark Ingram and Tarik Cohen will be splitting carries on a regular basis, with Cohen maybe only getting receiving downs. Not crazy about any of the options at FLEX, but one could hit.
Feels like this is the year I win again..... #ScoreMoreFor4
